This morning, we had another brave group of students wake in the dead of night to hike up the sleeping giant with our Program Manager Chris. However, unlike our other group, they chose to only make the climb once! Unfortunately due to cloud coverage, they were unable to watch the sunrise, however, the clouds did clear before their descent revealing the beauty of this island.
Back at the hotel, as is our new tradition, students jumped into the pool fully clothed!
This afternoon, we all boarded a yellow bus for our last beach day at Kalapaki Beach!
Hungry from our morning of class, we all headed off to various restaurants or food trucks, enjoying everything from pizza to Hawaiian plates with SPAM! With our bellies full, we headed straight to the beach for a swim in the ocean. Throughout the afternoon we enjoyed various games of volleyball, dips in the ocean and mounds of shaved ice. At the end of our day, and waiting for our bus, we watched a sea turtle swimming along the ocean wall as if he was saying goodbye!
Back at our hotel, we enjoyed a hearty meal of spaghetti and meatballs with a side of salad and cake. Tired, once more, from our long day, we had another evening in playing cards, working on homework and swimming in the pool. Here’s to another great day here on the “Garden Island”!
