Final PADI Lesson

Today marks our 10th day in Cozumel, Mexico. We woke up to clear blue skies and a warm sun shining on us. English classes were held in the pool, where students gathered to read King Lear. Today we had three activities that took place.

The first was the PADI lesson – the last day of certification before the open water dives on Friday. The students spent time snorkelling, before doing some theory on the pier. They finally got their scuba gear on and went for a shallow dive. This was very exciting as many of the students said that they encountered various wildlife in the water, such as swordfish and stingrays.

Next, there was an open yoga class being held by the pier before dinner. The group enjoyed the beautiful weather and ocean breeze as they participated in this fun practice.

Finally, a group of students had the option to go see the new Jurassic World movie in theatres after dinner. Everyone agreed that it was a great movie and that they had an amazing time.

Although there were many fun activities available to the Blyth Academy students, many students chose to dedicate their time to schoolwork, exploring the Mexican culture, or soaking up the sun with friends. Overall today was another amazing day on our Cozumel trip, looking forward to many more!
