Buenas noches from Mexico!

We can’t believe this is the last Sunday of the trip! This weekend seemed to fly by, either because we had two great excursions going on or because it was our last weekend here and we didn’t want it to come to an end.

Saturday was a long but a memorable day for the students on the whale shark excursion. Seeing these mammals up close and getting to swim alongside them is an experience I know that I and the kids will never forget. Some kids were even able to capture the moment of them beside the whale shark with their underwater camera. This afternoon over 30 kids went on our Beach Day excursion at Chankanaab Park. It was a perfect day to be at the beach, with the temperature well over 30 degrees and sunny skies all day. At Chankanaab the students enjoyed playing beach volleyball, tanning (and falling asleep) on the hammocks, and cooling off in the beautiful turquoise blue water. Despite the heat, the students seemed to enjoy being outside and staying active walking around the park and playing beach volleyball all day.

Back at home, the students got some sun hanging out by the pool in the afternoon and others got to work on their photo essay. This evening it seems like many students are gathering pictures in order to complete their photo essays while the biology students are working on an assignment and reviewing their work so far in the course. The final exams will be here in no time! We hope this week doesn’t fly by as quickly as the weekend did!

Talk to you soon,

Melissa and Anthony
