Volcano Hike

Greetings, friends and family! We are excited to report that we have all arrived safely back at our Costa Rica home-base in Playas Del Coco!

This morning, we woke up at Los Lagos resort and made the most of our remaining time. Students feasted at the breakfast buffet and took their last trips to the water slides. A group of about 20 students joined in a 2-kilometre incline hike to an observation lookout! The cloud cover blocked some of the volcano, but we still got amazing views of the countryside (plus a good workout). After packing up all of our stuff, we boarded the bus and said adios to Lagos!

We stopped in the town of La Fortuna for a quick lunch and perusal of souvenir shops before continuing on our journey “home”. The bus ride provided us with some stunning views of the mountains and the water!

When we got back to Coco, Mario was ready to greet us and show us to our rooms for a quick break before dinner. Students were happy to be reunited with our villa pools! After the downtime, we made our way to dinner for some delicious quesadillas. We missed Mario’s meals!

The rest of the evening was spent rather studiously as students prepped for our final full week of classes. Some joined us for a trip to the mini-market to stock up on study snacks, while others bunkered down by the pool. After a long day, we’re ready to hit the hay and dream of what this week has in store!

Buenas Noches!
