About This Program
Get to know several European countries in one amazing summer as you travel by plane and train to thriving metropolises where modern architecture blends with medieval, as well as sandy Mediterranean shores and off-the-beaten-path places that offer an authentic cultural experience.
In London, a city bursting with history and iconic architecture, stroll along the banks of the Thames, shop at Covent Garden, Oxford Street, and Regent Street, and have a choice of which fascinating museums and galleries to visit.
Cross to mainland Europe and explore the colourful streets of Amsterdam, a city with more canals than Venice. Visit Anne Frank House, watch diamond cutters at a diamond house, and opt to go on a cycling tour.
In sophisticated Paris, gaze in awe at Notre-Dame, people watch from sidewalk cafés, and immerse yourself in the masterpieces of the Louvre.
Take a brief respite from the city hopping and stop on the south coast of France, spending your days on beautiful beaches and swimming in the cool Mediterranean Sea.
Spice things up in vibrant and lively Spain, and become familiar with distinctly unique Spanish cultures. In Barcelona, view the inspiring architecture of Antoni Gaudí and take to the skies on a once-in-a-lifetime hot-air balloon ride over the Catalan countryside. Valencia, the birthplace of paella and an often overlooked city, offers a fabulous mix of ancient and modern sites. In Castilian Madrid, the capital of Spain, immerse yourself in the classic art of the Prado and modern works of the Reina Sofia.
No visit to the Iberian Peninsula would be complete without a stop in Lisbon, where you can marvel at the panoramic, no-filter-necessary views from São Jorge Castle atop one of the city’s famous seven hilltops, the perfect final photo to cap off this epic journey.

Rural Cycling & Urban Canal Cruising, with Dinner (Amsterdam)
On this two-part excursion we first hop on our bikes for a scenic ride through picture-postcard Dutch countryside, before relaxing on board a cruise on the canals of Amsterdam! Explore like a local – by bike!
We spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon pedalling through beautiful countryside, exploring picturesque villages, waterways and farmland. We stop along the way to take pictures beside a windmill and colourful fisherman’s houses all while learning about the region’s history and folklore with our fantastic guide.
On arrival back to the city, we walk a short distance to where we depart on our evening canal cruise with commentary. We enjoy some of the best pizza in town, brownie for dessert and unlimited soft drinks as we view Amsterdam from the water.
Cycling to last approx. 4 hours and cruise to last approx. 1.5 hours. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, and bring water, sunscreen and a hat. Running shoes are recommended for cycling.
Palace of Versailles (Paris)
Versailles was once an important location where governmental affairs were conducted and political decisions made. Its glory is truly a sight to be seen. Aside from its amazing architecture, Versailles’ history also makes the trip a must on anyone’s France to-do list.
As the seat of political power, Versailles naturally became the cradle of the French Revolution. It was there that Marie-Antoinette was famously alleged to have said, in response to the fact that the French people were starving, “let them eat cake”. Both the King and the Queen were later executed and feudalism in France was abolished.
We will be picked up by private coach after lunch. Once at the Chateau, we will take in the magnificent gardens and fountains, before a private guide takes us inside the palace to learn about the palace’s history and the people of the time. We will return to Paris in time for dinner.
Fencing is one of those sports that not many get the option to try – so why not take your chance now and learn how to spar against your friends in this Olympic sport. Speed, accuracy, timing, quick thinking, decision-making, good hand-eye coordination…all of these skills will be put to the test!
In a specialized sports hall, our skilled instructors will give us a safety briefing and short introduction to the history of fencing, before we learn to attack and defend with some basic fencing movements. Once we have increased confidence and we have become ‘experts’ we’ll have a tournament with electric suits and score boards. The winner will even get a medal.
Please wear light clothing and comfortable shoes, and bring water. Lesson is 2 hours, plus travel time.
Aquopolis Waterpark (Madrid)
Thrills and spills are the order of the day at Aquopolis waterpark, where there’s something for everyone. Located in Villanueva de la Cañada in the city’s western suburbs, this wet and wild world is packed with attractions of all heights and shapes, from white-knuckle rides to gentle slides.
Try exciting rides such as the ‘Turbolance’, the Black Hole or the Wave surfer, and other more relaxing attractions, including a variety of whirlpools, two rivers and soft slides. There are more than a dozen water slides, including daredevil magnets such as the Kamikaze and the Angel’s Leap – all in beautifully landscaped surroundings. This is a park where you can go from a thrilling adrenalin rush to the peaceful quiet of the lush gardens in a matter of moments. You’ll be able to let yourself go in the Boomerang, the enclosed slides, the Zig Zag for most daring or the easy-going attractions such as the Soft Slides and the Wave Pool.
Please bring swimwear, towel, sunscreen, water and snacks. Leave valuables at the hotel.
