Costa Rica August 2016: Back in Coco

Hola! After a couple of days away it is nice to be back in Playa del Coco. The students are back in their regular class routines alongside their teachers. We all cannot believe how quickly this trip has flown by, as the students are more than halfway through their courses by now.

Today those who signed up to go on the river safari left at 8:00am. We drove an hour or so and picked up our guide and then proceeded to drive to the river. There we hopped on a boat and drifted down the river for a couple of hours. Our guide, Mery, would get the captain to stop and pull closer to animals and plants once he spotted them. We saw howler monkeys, bats, different species of birds, crocodiles, and turtles.

Once we completed our boat tour we returned back to the villas, and had a delicious lunch of quesadillas waiting for us. The students who did not participated were in the pool cooling off with a fun game of volleyball. The rest of the afternoon was filled with classes and presentations.
