It was our last day at Hotel Rabfer, while it was nice to stay in the heart of La Fortuna, today the kids packed up their things and we drove 10 minutes down the way to the stunning Los Lagos resort. Upon arrival we all took in the lush greenery and exotic flora and got our wristbands to enter the grounds. Little did they know that we were staying at a total waterpark oasis, complete with thermal baths, rocking slides and a backsplash of the Arenal Volcano. Everyone was in awe and filled with excitement to explore the resort and quickly take on the park.  With a variety of slides to be tested, they ranged from fast and hot, to super fast (through tunnels!) and refreshing! Jacuzzi beds, swim up snack bar and lounge pools tied it all together. The horse lovers in our group were pleasantly surprised to see 40 or so beautiful horses trotting by, and zip liners crossing above. The resort also includes a butterfly conservatory, crocodile lagoon, and frog farm.

Lunch at the resort consisted of, what felt like, the finest that Costa Rica has to offer. The kids loved the variety and were quick to finish and change for the waterpark. The day was filled with excitement and it was nice to see everyone relaxed and having a great time!

In the afternoon we scheduled a 2km hike up to the observatory point that was right from our resort grounds. It was an uphill treck but the view at the top was well worth it. The observatory point was directly across from the Arenal Volcano bordered with a clear blue River and lush vegetation. Panoramas were off the the charts!

We went for dinner for a second delicious feast consisting of mussels, tilapia, fried plantains and basically everything else you can imagine. Some of the kids went to shower and get ready for the evening, while others went for another round in the hot pools. The group met up later that evening for a fun night of karaoke and darts. The hotel had a large projector, two microphones and unlimited music choices. There was also amazing Spanish salsa, bachata and meringue music. The girls were having a great time learning the steps!

It was a great day and well earned. Work hard, play hard!

Adios!
